General:

The following is the text of a program for the last reunion of the 13th Minnesota, Company E. The program is unique in that it provides the date of death of all members who passed away prior to the reunion, and the location in which they were living at the time. Please note, that at the bottom of the minutes, it is explained that this is the end of the formal meetings of Company "E" with only three members attending.  The men are listed in order of their deaths.

The remaining three men passed away after the 1962 reunion. Their data is as follows:

Lipke, Charles H...................Jan. 22, 1964..............................Mille Lacs, Minn.
Guy, Benjamin F...................Nov. 7, 1973...............................Ramsey County, Minn.
Williams, Niles L...................March 19, 1974...........................Hennepin County, Minn

The following members of the company were also alive in 1962, but lived out of state:

Baker, Chas. H.....................4527 N.E. 30th Ave., Portland, Ore.
Lyberg, Gust.........................8445 Pacific Ave., Tacoma 44, Wash.
Ross, Oscar..........................4435 W. 62 St., Los Angeles 43, Calif.
Sorenson, Lester P................220 Arden Rod, Santa Barbara, Calif.
Worley, Ed. C.......................Monte Drive, Santa Barbara, Calif.

Report to "E"  Company
"E" Company 13th Minnesota Society

It is hard  to realize that for sixty-four years this gallant band has kept in touch with each other, and held meetings to reminisce abut army days, life on transports and in hospitals, and of most interest now--"How are the Boys who are still holding forth?"  Something of that thought must have been in the minds of three members of "E" Co. Society as they sat opposite each other in the Grill Room, of the Hotel St. Paul, for their Annual Dinner Meeting, Saturday noon, March 24, 1962

Those present were Ben Guy, Charles Lipke and your Secretary, Niles Williams.  Recent letters and notes were read from Charles Baker, Ed Worley, Gust Lyberg and from the Rosses, a letter and a telegram.

The death of my brother, H. E. Williams, leaves us without a President, and it seemed it might be the time to close out the "E" company account.  Ben and Charles were inclined to leave the decision up to me, and I feel that we should streamline our operation where we can.

We can, of course, meet as usual and keep in touch with each other as before, but any unforeseen circumstance would not create a problem about what to do with any "E" company property.  The idea now is that all records be turned over to the Minnesota Historical Society when we are through with them.  This would include practically a complete file of Company Rosters, Company diary from Camp Ramsey to Manila, December 31, 1898, a complete diary  of the war by Lisle Tucker and a few pictures.  In spite of many appeals I have been unable to locate the final section of the Company Diary from January 1, 1899, to muster-out in
San Francisco October 3, 1899.

With this Roster there is enclosed a check for proportion due each member of his interest in the Company Fund.

Here's to your health.

Niles Williams
Secretary - Treasurer
