U.S. Army Transport Mobile
This is a view of the transport MOBILE. She was originally a British liner. After the Spanish American War she was retained by the Army and renamed U.S.A.T SHERMAN. In 1922 she was bought by the Los Angeles Steamship Company, and rebuilt as a cabin liner for the Los Angeles -Hawaii service. The company renamed her the CALAWAII. She steamed successfully as the running mate of CITY OF LOS ANGELES (the previously intended running mate, CITY OF HONOLULU, sank on it's first voyage!) MOBILE was withdrawn and  broken up in Japan 1933
