This gun, removed from the ALMIRANTE OQUENDO
rests at the Jefferson Barracks, St. Louis, Missouri. The site
overlooks the Mississippi River. The gun was installed in this location at
the time of the St. Louis World's Fair (1904). The gun was a favorite
photo prop for World War II navy vets living at the Jeffereson Barracks in
many of the old wooden barracks buildings that were converted to housing
after the war.
