One of the six-pounder guns from the Spanish
Cruiser INFANTA MARIA TERESA is located at the
entrance to the "Recreational Park" in Monroe, Wisconsin. . The gun is
apparently one of ten six-pounders (57 mm) guns that were aboard
the Spanish flagship at the Battle
of Santiago. The engraving on the gun
reads:
'TROPHY MARIA THERESA SANTIAGO JULY 3, 1898"
Side view of the gun. The conical deck mount has
partially rotted away.
Rear view of the gun. The breech block is missing
and the breech is, unfortunately, damaged.
