This is a view of the Ward Line steamship HAVANA passing Morro Castle at the entrance to Havana Harbor. Aboard her are the 6th Missouri Volunteer Infantry and the 49th Iowa Volunteer Infantry on April 9, 1899. The troops had been serving as part of the American occupation force in Cuba.

This is a view of the officers of the 6th Missouri, taken aboard the HAVANA. In the center, holding his hat, appears to be Col. Letcher Hardeman.
