This medal was issued to the members of the U.S. Army who served in the
Army of Occupation in Cuba between 1898 and 1902. This medal is a
post-Spanish American War medal. This specimen was dug up in Gallatin,
Tennessee.
The obverse reads "United States Army/For Service" and shows an eagle
over a collection of flags, cannons etc. At the lower edge are thirteen
stars.
The reverse reads "Army of Occupation/Military Government of
Cuba" and shows the Cuban crest.
