The Medal:

The obverse of this bronze medal illustrates the Armory in Utica, New York, surrounded by the inscription "PRESENTED BY THE ONEIDA COUNTY WAR COMMITTEE". The, reverse is inscribed "IN RECOGNITION OF PATRIOTIC SERVICE DURING THE WAR BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES AND SPAIN 1898" and engraved with the veteran’s name and unit. This particular was issued to Edwin C. Nash of the 203rd New York Volunteer Infantry, Co. G.

The metal is suspended from a Red/White/Blue ribbon and a pinback top bar with a spread-winged eagle flanked by stars.
